Some years back, I didn't know about either the importance of Mental Health or even the importance of Emotional Health.

I knew only that we need to be physically healthy. This was followed as a tradition because I remember my mother always used to tell me to drink this or eat this for better physical health. I too, at that time, I thought that only being physically fit was good for me.

So, I started focusing only on my physical health but still there was something wrong going on somewhere. 

After some bad experiences that I had in the past, I was so depressed that I didn't know what to do. I even took pills for relaxation but later I realized that the pills also were not working. This is because these pills made me feel relaxed for some time only but then after some hours, I was again back with many negative thoughts. I was again stressed that much that I stopped taking those pills. 

My life went on like this for some time till I came to realize that my mental and emotional health also needed attention not only my physical body.

Since then, I started taking care of my mental health and here, I am going to share with you what I did in order to improve my mental health.

Don't Pay Attention To What Others Say About You


I had this habit of paying attention to what others were saying about me. Due to this, I used to create a lot of negative thoughts and finally, were more stressed. I was not able to focus on my work properly or even whatever what I was doing. 

As soon as I was in any activity, those thoughts used to appear and I felt so angry with myself. I was just making mistakes on and on. I was so fed up with those interference of others in my personal life that one day I decided to put a full stop to that.

What I did was to go on ignoring whatever they were saying about me. So, when I was ignoring what others were saying about me continuously, I found that that helped me a lot.

This means it's good to ignore that which can harm you physically, mentally and emotionally. I understood that just by ignoring them, I had been able to decrease my stress which means I had been able to start being healthy mentally. It's not all, because when you start becoming healthy mentally then it is also followed by being healthy physically and emotionally too.

So, this way, the puzzle pieces were coming together gradually and my life started transforming for the best.

Don't Be Afraid 


When I went on ignoring what others were saying about me continuously then one day, I realized that it was fear that was blocking me to progress in life.

It was the fear of what others would say if I did this or that or even what others were already saying about me.

Fear is the greatest obstacle in one's life. This is where I started to work on my fear. I found that as I was ignoring what others were saying about me, I was also gradually decreasing the fear that was there within me.

I later felt stronger than before and I also realized that my confidence level had increased a lot.

Be Yourself


When I came to realize that it was that fear indeed which was blocking me, then I took another step in my life which really helped me a lot.

I started being myself and started ignoring everyone who was interfering in my personal life. I was ignoring what they were saying about my way of living life or even about what I was wearing and all. 

I realized that day that if I went on listening to what others were saying about me then it would be impossible for me to be myself.

This is the most important decision that I took then for myself. I was neither being selfish nor was it about not caring about others rather I wanted to improve myself for the best, physically, mentally and emotionally. I didn't want anyone to become an obstacle in my inner growth.

So, as I started being myself and living life as I wanted to live, I realized how easy it was to be myself. This is because when you be yourself, you have no stress at all. You feel like you have got wings and you are free to fly. 

This freedom is very important because it is in this freedom that you really live life to the fullest.

How to be aware



Live In The Present Moment


The next step that I took then was to live in the present moment. 

Yes, it was not that easy as there were still some thoughts of the past coming to disturb me and even there were some thoughts which came to remind me that I need to secure myself for the future.

But, as I was adamant, I went on maintaining that I needed to live in the present moment only. So, this way, I went on focusing only in the present moment. This was very difficult indeed but not impossible. 

When you live in the present moment, then you don't have any stress of what happened in the past or what is going to happen in the future.

Living in the present moment was a must for me and for that I needed another step.

Challenge Your Mind


The next step in order to live in the present moment was to challenge my mind. Here, I worked incessantly to challenge it because it was the one which was sending signals via thoughts to disturb me on and off in my practice of being in the present moment.

What I did here was to ignore all the thoughts and emotions that were appearing in order to disturb me and, at the same time, I was increasing the intensity so that I can focus only in the present moment. The more I increased the intensity of my concentration, I found that I was, at the same time, decreasing both thoughts and emotions.

This way, I had been able to eliminate both thoughts and emotions forever. It was 9 years ago that I came for the first time to know what peace and bliss really was when the greatest inner transformation happened.


Challenge Your Mind

I know that many among you are struggling to come out of stress, depression, anxiety and even more related to mental health but that doesn't mean that you can't come out from them.
