When talking about empathy, many people think that it is just the same sentence that they have heard again and again.
The sentence is as follows:
‘Always step in the shoes of your fellow people and look at the situation from their perspective.’
They don’t realize that the same sentence has some depth in it which they have to know so that they don’t create problems for themselves.

It’s so easy to say this sentence than done. You may be practising it too but what have you got in return? Have you found any specific inner transformation in you? Obviously not and it is because inner transformation doesn’t happen in following advice like that and practising it on the periphery level only.
It’s like someone is dictating you some paragraphs and you are only writing without having any deep understanding about it. Yes, you are following that advice but with no understanding at all about its process.
People don’t even realize how many things are connected with it and in how much depth they need to work on it. For them, it’s just like getting a piece of cake and eating it without even knowing about the process of the cake and the process of eating.
Let say, you really listen to those people who said it and you are actually practising it too. This means, you are stepping in the shoes of other people and you are looking at their situations from their perspective, then what?
What do you do next?
Are you becoming like them or are you only trying to understand them?
Are you thinking like them and analysing their actions and reactions?
Why should you do all this and waste your energy and time?
In fact, what you don’t realize is that when you really step in their shoes, there are many things that happen in you which can ruin your own life.
