How To Make Macarons With Lemon Curd Filling

Macarons with lemon curd filling are tasty. In fact, macarons are appreciated by many. There are many fillings which you can use for them. The various fillings for Macarons are Chocolate, Vanilla, Buttercream, Cherry Frosting, Lemon Curd and so on. Today, I am going to share with you Tasty Macarons Recipe With Lemon Curd Filling and I am sure you will love them too.

Homemade Tasty Macarons With Lemon Curd Filling Recipe


5 Egg Whites
70 g Caster Sugar
210 g Icing Sugar
3 tsp of ground Almond
2 g of Salt
Food Colouring (Optional)

Macarons Instructions

~ First, preheat oven to 150 degrees C.

~ Blend egg whites, food colouring and caster sugar in an electric mixer for 2 minutes.

~ Add the ground almond, salt and icing sugar and blend again till the mixture becomes smooth.

~ Put some of the mixture in a pastry bag which is fitted with 1/4 inch round tip.

~ Pipe the mixture onto the baking sheet in rounds, leaving space between each other.

~ Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

~ It must come off the tray and if not then continue baking them till they are done.

~ Transfer to a plate and leave to cool down.


Lemon Curd Filling Recipe


1/2 cup of fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 cup of Granulated Sugar
3 tbs of Unsalted Butter
3 drops of Vanilla Essence
1 Egg Yolk
3 Eggs


~ In a saucepan, heat the lemon juice and butter on medium heat.

~ In the meantime, beat the eggs, egg yolk and sugar well.

~ Now, add the egg mixture to the hot lemon juice and butter mixture and mix well.

~ Cook the mixture on medium heat and stir continuously until it thickens and leave the bottom of the saucepan..

~ Remove from heat and pour the mixture into a bowl.

~ Then, add the vanilla essence and mix well.

~ Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave it to chill for an hour in the refrigerator.

Now your filling is ready. Finally, you just have to sandwich the Macarons with a thin layer of the Lemon Curd Filling.
